Constancy
A Poem Of Hope

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever.” — Hebrews 13:8 (NIV)
Constancy
On whom or what shall we depend
In days of shifting sands?
Can trust itself to fear attend
When feet don’t trust the land?
Is everything laid bare proved false
Under the microscope?
Or is there one last holy waltz
To remnant songs of hope?
I spurn the cynic’s mitts despite
My hard and hardening heart.
I send my pain on teary flights
And turn their trails to art.
Admittedly uncertainty
Has built a home to stay,
Though lose not hope in certainty
Of Christ who does not change.
Should I begin to doubt that all
I see can be redeemed,
Let ignorance be my reward
For Love has redeemed me.
